The contract calls for the procurement of 2,144 units of machine bolts identified by NSN 5306-00-543-5604, under solicitation number SPE7M2-26-U-0206, issued by the Department of Defense's Nuclear Reactor Program. These commercial-type items must adhere to stringent technical and quality requirements outlined in various military standards, including MIL-STD-1916 for sampling and MIL-DTL-1222 for material and manufacturer markings. The contract mandates zero-defect acceptance criteria during sampling inspections, with critical source inspections required. Packaging and marking must comply with DLA packaging standards and prohibit the use of mercury or mercury-containing compounds in the hardware and packaging materials, except in specified functional applications such as batteries and sensors. Delivery is to be made within 195 days FOB origin, with inspection and acceptance also occurring at the origin point. Each shipment must be accompanied by a Certificate of Quality Compliance, and detailed surface markings including the material symbol, manufacturer’s symbol, and lot number are required directly on the items, or alternatively on the packaging if space is limited, following military handbook MIL-HDBK-57 guidelines. The contract also emphasizes compliance with environmental and quality assurance provisions, referencing the DLA Master List of Technical and Quality Requirements to govern all aspects of manufacture, inspection, packaging, and delivery. The point of contact for this procurement is the contracting officer Hunter Steele, reachable via email and phone.
