AI Contract Overview
This contract calls for the procurement of 15 units of a shear bolt (part number HS4144-4L10, NSN 5306-01-184-0368) with delivery required within 5 days after order. The solicitation is managed by the Department of Defense's ASC Commodities Division, specifically through the Defense Logistics Agency, with the place of performance listed as Huntsville, AL. The contract references adherence to various technical and quality requirements as outlined in the DLA Master List, including specific packaging and removal of government identification protocols. Sampling and inspection procedures must comply with military standards such as MIL-STD-1916 or ASQ H1331, with critical, major, and minor attributes assigned specific verification levels and acceptance quality limits unless otherwise specified. The procurement process incorporates strict compliance with documentation requirements for source approval and covers handling of protected defense information. Although item unique identification is not required due to customer request, quality standards and verification are emphasized throughout. Boeing/McDonnell Douglas Helicopter in Mesa, AZ is recognized as an acceptable source, though the proprietary nature of the data limits competitive procurement options. The solicitation deadline is set for early March 2026, and the primary point of contact is a representative from the DLA for additional coordination.
