AI Contract Overview
The contract calls for the procurement of 4-ounce (120 ml) cylindrical screw cap bottles made of clear plastic, specifically polyvinylidene chloride (PVC) with a bluish-pink tint. These bottles are for medical use but are not regulated by the FDA. The exact item to be supplied must match the Millipore part number XX65-047-09, with no substitutes authorized. The packaging requirements follow DLA's commercial standards and medical marking standards, ensuring the bottles are packaged in sealed unit containers that protect against damage. Exterior shipping containers must be suitable for safe transport and compliant with export requirements as needed, with all markings adhering to Medical Marking Standard No. 1, superseding MIL-STD-129. Palletization and packing standards conform to DLA Packaging Requirements for Procurement and ASTM D3951, except where overridden by the DLA Master List of Technical and Quality Requirements. The acquisition specifies a quantity of eight units, with delivery required within 20 days to the destination address onboard the USS George H W Bush (CVN 77) in Norfolk, VA. The contract includes strict controls on quantity variance (plus or minus zero percent) and inspection and acceptance points are set at the destination. Shipments must avoid parcel post and use the fastest traceable methods, consistent with DLA transportation notes for vessel shipments. Any hazardous materials handling must comply with federal standards and DLA technical requirements. Communication and technical support contacts are provided, and the contract integrates DoD-approved technical and quality standards for medical acquisitions.
