The City of Seattle's Department of Transportation is seeking qualified engineering firms to provide bridge structural rehabilitation design services for the Ballard and Magnolia Bridges. The scope encompasses inspection verification, preliminary and final design, development of rehabilitation alternatives and cost estimates, preparation of technical specifications and bid packages, and assistance with contractor selection. Additionally, the project involves obtaining necessary permits, right-of-way acquisition, managing over-water work, and coordinating with stakeholders. The selected consultants may be invited to participate in subsequent phases, such as engineering support during construction, depending on their performance and capacity, with the possibility of separate agreements for each phase. Interested firms must submit Statements of Qualifications demonstrating their ability to handle one or both bridge projects, including detailed staffing plans and availability. Contracts will be awarded based on the highest-ranking firms' qualifications and capacity, with the potential for multiple contracts to be awarded to a single firm if they submit proposals for both bridges and meet the criteria. The project funding ranges from five to fifteen million dollars, and the solicitation was posted on March 17, 2025, with a deadline for responses on April 24, 2025. The primary contact for this project is Basel Ismail, reachable via email or phone, and further project details are available through the city's procurement portal.
