Building 138 Repair/Repurpose

The Army Contracting Command - Rock Island has issued a pre-solicitation notice for the repair and repurposing of Building 138 at the Rock Island Arsenal in Illinois. This project, identified under solicitation number W519TC-26-R-A032, is designated as a 100% total small business set-aside, emphasizing participation from small businesses. The anticipated solicitation will include all necessary documentation such as a detailed scope of work, with a requirement for performance and payment bonds. The project involves extensive preservation and reconstruction efforts to convert Building 138 into a parking garage for snow removal vehicles. Key tasks include replacing the existing 12,000 square foot concrete floor to improve drainage for debris and moisture, installing new man doors to meet life safety egress codes, replacing the sliding wood door with a coiling overhead door, and conducting exterior masonry repairs to stabilize the structure and ensure a weather-tight enclosure. Additionally, mechanical ventilation equipment and electrical outlets will be installed to comply with current codes and to support tenant use, enhancing the building's functionality and safety.
