Solicitation # CBP5501
Management & Training Corporation (MTC) is soliciting bids for a fixed-price, single lump sum subcontract to replace two commercial storefront door assemblies at the San Diego Job Corps Center in Imperial Beach, California. The project focuses on the north entrances of Building 181 to improve security, accessibility, and weather resistance. According to Addendum #1, the contractor shall retain existing full-height storefront framing and upper glazing, focusing instead on replacing doors, door-level headers, thresholds, hardware, electrified access-control components, and weather seals. The estimated contract value ranges from 0 to 25,000 dollars, with a performance period of 30 consecutive business days following the receipt of parts or a written Notice to Proceed. Bidders must conduct a mandatory physical site visit and submit a detailed cost breakout on company letterhead, proof of insurance, and three references. For bids equal to or greater than 25,000 dollars, a bid bond of 20 percent and subsequent performance and payment bonds are required. The contract is subject to the Davis-Bacon Act, requiring compliance with prevailing wage rates and federal labor standards, including specific paid sick leave and minimum wage requirements. All work must adhere to ADA and California accessibility standards, specifically requiring 10-inch ADA bottom rails for medium-stile doors. Award will be based on overall best value, and the selected contractor must provide two sets of operation and maintenance manuals along with manufacturer and installer warranties.
