The City of Weed prepared an Initial Study and adopted a Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) for the project on December 8, 2016. Subsequently, three Addenda to the MND were prepared in 2017, 2018, and 2023 to address additional improvements. Following preparation of Addendum No. 3, the City and PACE Engineering determined that additional improvements were needed to improve water pressure in the Bel Air area. In addition, it was discovered that several businesses and residences adjacent to N. Weed Boulevard were connected to an old two-inch diameter waterline. The City proposes to amend the approved project to include installation of a new 8-inch-diameter water main in Terrace Street and installation of new water service lines from the existing meters to the new water main. In addition, a 2-inch-diameter waterline in N. Weed Boulevard would be abandoned, ~12 water meters and meter boxes would be replaced, and ~12 existing water services would be reconnected to an existing 8-inch-diameter water main in N. Weed Boulevard; individual pressure regulating valves would be installed on the customer side of the new water services.
