C -- Steelhead Barge Inspection Services

Potential Sources Sought to provide A&E services for on-site construction inspection for the Steelhead Barge Renovation Project No. KTN-04-01, for the Forest Service. Specifically, the Forest Service is seeking Emerging Small Businesses in the greater Seattle area who are interested in the attached Statement of Work. Inspections shall be performed by qualified inspectors that are experienced and certified in this type of work. Inspectors without shipyard and marine repair experience will not be considered. Standard Form (SF) 254s A/E and Related Services Questionnaire and 255s A/E Related Services for Specific Projects must be submitted no later than 10/17/2003. North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 541330 applies and the size standard is $4.0 million. This is a restricted procurement to emerging small business concerns pursuant to FAR 19.1002. SELECTION PROCESS: Selected Engineering and Contracting staff will review all submitted experience and qualifications (AE 254s/255s) packages to determine the highest qualified firms. The evaluation team will rank and rate all qualified firms and a fee proposal will be requested from the top ranked firm. If there is no agreement concerning the cost to perform this work, a fee proposal will be requested from the second-ranked firm. All interested and qualified firms within the greater Seattle area desiring consideration shall submit SF 254s and SF 255s to the following: Robert D. Jaeger, Contracting Officer, USDA Forest Service, Tongass National Forest, Federal Building, 648 Mission St., Ketchikan, AK 99901 no later than 3:00 PM Alaska Standard Time, October 17, 2003.
