The State of California, Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) is seeking qualified firms to assist in the installation, operation, and maintenance of air quality and meteorological sensors at the Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area (ODSVRA).
The Department of Parks and Recreation owns air quality and meteorological monitoring equipment that is deployed annually throughout the Oceano Dunes SVRA in support of ongoing air quality projects. (For a complete list of instruments, please refer to Section 8.01.9, Equipment List.) These instruments are deployed seasonally throughout the park in consultation with a team of research scientists who assist in the design of the monitoring network and the analysis/interpretation of the data collected from these sites. In any field monitoring season, the Department may install and operate up to 15 seasonal monitoring stations with a variety of instruments installed on platforms within an active sand dune and all operated by a solar battery charging system. Additionally, DPR operates a wind tower system to measure meteorological data year-round.
DPR seeks qualified firms to assist with the installation, calibration, operation, and maintenance of air quality systems in this harsh and challenging environment. Contractor will support DPR field staff and work in close coordination with a team of technicians and researchers also working under contract with the Department to implement and support field studies.
