It is the intent of this agency to modify the current franchise agreement in effect with Brighthouse Networks to expand the services provided under the Cable Communications Policy Act of 1984 and the Cable Television Consumer Protection and Competition Act of 1992, as amended by the Telecommunications Act of 1996. The 6th Air Mobility Wing at MacDill AFB, FL requires additional coverage on MacDill AFB. The current coverage map will be expanded to include the new required areas. The current franchise agreement is in effect until January 1, 2011, but the Government intends to extend the term of that agreement as a condition of the proposed franchise agreement modification. To set up and/or obtain Cable Television services from any other source would result in substantial duplication of cost to the government that is not expected to be recovered through competition. Responses to this notice are due by 10:00 AM EST on Friday, November 6, 2009. If no responses are received, the modification to the current franchise agreement will be completed.
