Cafeteria Food Services

The General Services Administration (GSA), Public Buildings Services (PBS), Region 2 intends to issue a sole source extension in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 for a performance period of six months beginning on October 1, 2010. The current contract, set to expire September 30, 2010, provides food services for the at the Daniel Patrick Moynihan U.S. Courthouse, 500 Pearl Street, New York, New York 10007. The food services are to be operated for the benefit of approximately 850 employees and a varying population of between 600 to 650 visitors daily. GSA has started the process of soliciting for the follow-on contract, but has required significant changes to the performance scope of work. As a result, there is insufficient time for GSA to otherwise immediately procure these services without encountering a lapse and/or impairment of services. Therefore, this sole source extension is necessary to bridge the gap between the current contract and the new award, thereby ensuring the uninterrupted provision of services required for the achievement of a smooth transition and continuous high-level service. Description of the work to be performed: The contractor is to furnish all material, labor, equipment, supervision and services necessary to perform full food services for a period of to six months for the U.S. Courthouse, 500 Pearl Street, New York, New York.
