California Wildlife Damage Management Project

The California Wildlife Damage Management Project is a collaborative effort between the County of San Diego Department of Agriculture, Weights, and Measures and the United States Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Wildlife Services. The project focuses on the implementation of an Integrated Wildlife Damage Management Program within the unincorporated areas of San Diego County. The current phase of the project involves the approval of a work and financial plan for the period of performance spanning from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. Environmental compliance is managed through the California Environmental Quality Act, with the project relying on the Environmental Impact Report and Environmental Impact Statement dated May 2024 and the Environmental Checklist including CEQA 15162 findings dated June 4, 2026. A Notice of Determination signed on June 15, 2026, by Environmental Planning Manager Thomas Duffy confirms that the project will not have significant environmental effects and requires no further mitigation measures.
