South Orange Village is inviting sealed bids for the Cameron Recreation Area Renovation Project in South Orange, New Jersey, with proposals due by December 2, 2025. The project aims to enhance the community’s recreational facilities by upgrading basketball courts, adding paddle tennis and pickleball courts, native plantings, fitness stations, and picnic areas, supported in part by a Green Acres Grant. Bidders must submit their proposals in a sealed envelope clearly marked with the project name and can obtain the bid documents either by downloading from the village’s website or examining them at the Village Hall. A non-mandatory pre-bid walkthrough is scheduled for October 16, 2025, to provide potential bidders an opportunity to inspect the site. The village reserves the right to reject any bids or waive irregularities and will decide to accept or reject proposals within sixty days of receipt. Bidders must meet specific qualifications, including compliance with the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act, providing a Public Works Contractor registration, and Business Registration documentation. As the project utilizes state funds through the Green Acres Program, vendors currently suspended or debarred are ineligible to participate. The contract size ranges from $500,000 to $1,500,000, and interested parties can find additional details and submit their bids through the village’s official bidding portal.
