The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-SCR-62645-R3, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Santa Cruz County - Flood Control and Water Conservation District. The Project is limited to rehabilitating 100 linear feet of an existing 66-inch diameter corrugated metal culvert pipe located below Capitola Road on private property within drainage easements. Temporary diversion dams composed of clean gravel and visqueen sheeting will be installed at 20 and 25 feet from the upstream and downstream ends of the culvert to isolate the work area. Once isolated, the culvert interior will be cleaned, voids will be filled with repair mortar, exterior voids will be compaction grouted with polyurethane geotechnical foam, and fiber-reinforced grout layers will be applied using a centrifugally cast concrete pipe machine. No grading and earthwork will occur, and access to the creek and bank will be limited to foot traffic for diversion dam and pump installation and removal. All work will be conducted through existing manholes with construction staging adjacent to the roadway.
