The system must separate waste trim from the usable product by rewinding waste material into independent rolls on either or both sides, rather than combining it with the good product as standard models do. Adjustable slit width must be achieved through a spacer mechanism between cutting knives, and independent drive systems with separate motors and controls are required for precise, adjustable control over cutting and winding speeds.
