THE SUPERVISOR OF SHIPBUILDING CONVERSION AND REPAIR NEWPORT NEWS VIRGINIA, INTENDS TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE PURCHASE ORDER/CONTRACT TO: BRUNSON INSTRUMENT COMPANY, 800-B CENTRAL BLVD., CARLSTADT, NJ., 07072, FOR CATAPULT LASER ALIGNMENT SYSTEM. THIS PURCHASE IS TO BE AWARDED UNDER SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION PROCEDURES AND OTHER THAN FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION AS AUTHORIZED UNDER FAR 6.302-1. THE AWARD DATE IS ANTICIPATED TO BE JULY 14, 2003. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATION. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT IS AVAILABLE AND TELEPHONE OR FAX OR E-MAIL REQUESTS WILL NOT BE HONORED. NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED ON THE BASIS OF OFFERS RECEIVED IN RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE. A DETERMINATION NOT TO COMPETE THIS PURCHASE BASED ON THIS NOTICE IS WITHIN THE DISCRETION OF THE GOVERNMENT.
