Central Basin Municipal Water District Proposition 1 Recycled Water Customer Conversion for Disadvantaged Communities Project

The Central Basin Municipal Water District is advancing its Proposition 1 Recycled Water Customer Conversion for Disadvantaged Communities Project by installing new recycled water pipelines across seven public sites in California, connecting them to a newly developed transmission system. The project involves both external and internal pipeline installations within public rights-of-way and on-site at Bellflower City Hall, Maywood Academy High School, San Antonio Elementary School, Tanner Elementary School, Tweedy Elementary School, Bloomfield Park, and Fedde Middle School. Pipeline lengths vary by location, with the majority of external work concentrated at Fedde Middle School, which requires 6,000 linear feet, while internal work is most substantial at Tanner Elementary School at 500 linear feet. Other sites have smaller but still significant installations, ranging from 20 to 225 linear feet internally and 45 to 600 linear feet externally, with Bellflower City Hall having no external work required. All installations are planned to occur over a six-month period beginning in 2025, focusing on expanding recycled water access to support water conservation and environmental sustainability in underserved communities. The project is managed by the Central Basin Municipal Water District, with Braden Yu serving as the primary point of contact for engineering coordination.
