The Department of Cannabis Control has approved six Medium Outdoor commercial cannabis licenses for CHIPS18 LLC at a site located at 3700 Hwy 135, Los Alamos, California, on an 89.19-acre parcel where approximately 60 acres are dedicated to outdoor cultivation. The operation transitions from previously held Small Outdoor licenses to Medium Outdoor licenses under the authority of the California Business and Professions Code, Division 10, Chapter 2, Section 26012, and complies with Santa Barbara County’s AGII-100 zoning designation and its certified Cannabis Land Use Ordinance. Cultivation occurs within hoophouse structures using a timed drip irrigation system supplied by an on-site well and stored in ten 5,000-gallon water tanks, with no artificial lighting permitted inside the structures. The site includes eight agricultural accessory buildings for drying and processing cannabis, along with five validated open storage structures of varying sizes ranging from 640 to 4,200 square feet. Cannabis plant waste is managed through onsite composting and hauling to a landfill, and the facility requires two to four full-time employees year-round. Environmental compliance is assured under CEQA Guidelines Section 15183 and the Class 1 Categorical Exemption, with inspections conducted at the site by the Department of Cannabis Control. Acceptance is administrative, managed from the Department’s Environmental Evaluation Office in Rancho Cordova. No federal contract clauses, pricing data, payment terms, invoicing systems, or procurement-specific requirements such as evaluation factors, clauses, representations, certifications, or special contract provisions have been specified, as this action constitutes a regulatory licensing and environmental compliance approval under state law rather than a federal acquisition contract.
