City of Calgary - Invitation to Bid - 24-2042-S08 9 AVENUE WATERMAIN IMPROVEMENTS

The project focuses on watermain network improvements at two intersections: 9 Avenue SW and 14 Street SW, and 9 Avenue SW and 8 Street SW in Calgary, Alberta. It involves connecting the existing 200 mm diameter watermain at 9 Avenue SW to a larger 750 mm water feedermain on 14 Street SW, as well as linking the 300 mm diameter 9 Avenue SW watermain to the 300 mm watermain on 8 Street SW through a newly acquired Utility Right of Way on private Enmax property. The work also includes the removal of surface structures within existing utility rights of way on private property near the 8 Street SW and 9 Avenue SW bridge. Additionally, decommissioning activities relate to a previously removed watermain on the 9 Avenue SW overpass at 8 Street SW. These improvements aim to enhance the water system by adding redundancy, improving fire flow, addressing water quality concerns, and updating the system to current design standards. The project also lays groundwork for better water network functionality to support future redevelopment and operational needs. Only selected proponents from the RFSO 24-2042 process are invited to participate, including Whissell Contracting Ltd., North Star Contracting Inc., LBCO Contracting Ltd., Kidco Construction Ltd., PME Inc., and Slimdor Contracting Ltd.
