City of Cookeville Requesting Bids for the Construction of Spring Street Sidewalks

The City of Cookeville is soliciting bids for the SR 24 Sidewalks Phase 2 project, which involves the construction of approximately 2,400 linear feet of 5-foot-wide sidewalks. The project scope includes installations along the north side of SR-24/East Spring Street from west of Carlen Avenue to Raider Drive, as well as along Carlen Avenue from SR-24 to the school. Key deliverables include the installation of curb and gutter with a 2-foot grass buffer strip, crosswalks, stormwater drainage improvements, ADA-compliant curb ramps, and the replacement of guardrails where necessary. This project is partially funded by a Multi Modal Access Grant through the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) under TDOT PIN 122002.02 and State Project No. 71LPLM-S3-047. Prime contractors must be prequalified with the Tennessee Department of Transportation in accordance with Tennessee Code Annotated Section 54-5-117 and TDOT Rule 1680-5-3 to be eligible for biddable proposals. Sealed bids must be physically submitted to the City of Cookeville Public Works office at 1115 E. Spring Street, Cookeville, TN 38501, by 2:00 PM CST on May 6, 2025, where they will be opened publicly. Bidding documents are available for a non-refundable fee of $150. While a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goal of 0% has been established, the City encourages the participation of minority- and women-owned firms and requires adherence to all non-discrimination policies.
