The City of Lompoc is preparing its Annual Operations and Maintenance Plan for Fiscal Year 2026-27, which encompasses routine activities necessary to sustain municipal functions and infrastructure. These operations are designed to qualify for exemption under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) guidelines, provided they meet the specified criteria and do not trigger any of the enumerated exceptions, such as impacts on hazardous materials, critical environmental resources, historical sites, scenic areas, or cumulative environmental effects. The scope includes standard maintenance and operational tasks performed by city departments that are not anticipated to cause significant environmental harm, allowing for streamlined compliance without requiring extensive environmental review. All qualifying activities must adhere strictly to the conditions outlined in Section 15300.2 of the CEQA guidelines, ensuring no activities occur in sensitive or protected areas. The plan is administered through the City’s Development Services and Planning departments, with primary contacts Cecilia Ceja and Greg Stones available for inquiries. The project is publicly accessible through the CEQAnet portal, reflecting transparency in the city’s environmental compliance process, and is intended to support ongoing city services in Lompoc, California, without triggering formal environmental impact assessments under CEQA.
