The City of Medicine Hat (“the City”) is seeking proposals from experienced and qualified proponents for the supply, fitting, delivery, and ongoing support of personal body armour systems for use by the Medicine Hat Police Service (MHPS). The objective of this procurement is to establish a standardized, modular body armour system across MHPS that enhances officer safety, supports operational policing requirements, and complies with applicable national and recognized industry standards. The proposed system shall include ballistic armour panels, internal and/or external carriers, trauma and rifle-rated hard armour plates, allowing for scalable protection based on operational risk and deployment needs. The armour solution must support integration of trauma plates and hard rifle plates where required, without compromising mobility, comfort, or ergonomics. The successful proponent will provide professional on-site and virtual measuring and fitting services, appropriately sized armour components, compatible carriers, and associated fittings and accessories, as well as ongoing warranty, replacement, and support services throughout the lifecycle of the armour system.
