The City of Surrey is soliciting proposals for the supply and installation of a temporary real ice skating rink at Surrey Civic Plaza, with the solicitation number BC1220-030-2026-033 and a response deadline of June 3, 2026. Proponents must provide all necessary equipment for installation, operation, and removal of the rink, ensuring all goods are of the highest quality, undamaged, and compliant with applicable standards including CSA approval where required. The successful proponent is responsible for replacing any defective goods at their own expense, and failure to do so within a reasonable timeframe permits the City to intervene and charge the costs back to the proponent. The City explicitly disclaims responsibility for restocking fees on returned or exchanged items. An information meeting is scheduled for May 20, 2026 at Surrey Civic Plaza, and while attendance is optional, non-attending proponents are deemed to have received all information presented, making it critical to attend or verify details independently as no meeting minutes will be distributed. Any amendments to the RFP will only be valid if issued as formal written addenda posted on the BC Bid and City of Surrey websites, and proponents are solely responsible for monitoring these sites for updates. All communications regarding the RFP must be directed in writing to purchasing@surrey.ca, and oral or unofficial communications will not alter the terms. Submission of a proposal constitutes full acceptance of the RFP requirements, including any addenda, and the City has no obligation to respond to inquiries outside of the official channel.
