PURPOSE: The Nashville District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) intends to issue an Invitation for Bid (IFB) solicitation for Clamshell dredging at Cumberland River Mile 102.7-104.0 PROJECT DESCRIPTION: USACE has a requirement for a firm fixed-price construction contract to accomplish the following work at Cumberland River Mile 102.7-104.0. Work shall consist of clamshell dredging in the navigational channel of the Cumberland River: 1) Approximately 250,000 CY of dredge material is to be dredged from the navigational river channel by clamshell only dredge, and placed in an open water placement areas that will be identified. 2) Two (2) Government Furnished Split hull Dump Scow Barges will be provided for contractor use during this project. They will be used for conveyance and disposal with the capacity to hold 300 cubic yards per scow. 3) Dredge material characteristics are expected to be primarily sand and silt, however other materials such as debris, gravel and coble may be encountered. This description is not intended to be all encompassing and is subject to change. NAICS CODE AND SBA SIZE STANDARD: The NAICS code for this project is 237990 with a size standard of $36,500,000. TYPE OF SET-ASIDE: None. The solicitation will be Unrestricted, Full and Open Competition. SOLICITATION AND CONTRACT TYPE: It is anticipated that from the IFB Solicitation, the Government will award one Firm-Fixed Price Construction Contract to the company that provides lowest priced bid who is found to be responsive and responsible. DISCLOSURE OF MAGNITUDE OF THE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT: The disclosure of magnitude range is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000.
