Clean Sediment from 4 Culverts on I-15 Near Fallbrook

Caltrans District 11 is seeking a contractor for an emergency culvert opening and sediment removal project at four locations on I-15 in Fallbrook, San Diego County. The project is designated as an emergency due to imminent threats to life and property, specifically to protect against emergency flooding and fire by restoring the culverts to their original capacity. All work will be performed within the operational right-of-way. The scope of work varies by location. At postmile 47.84, a backhoe and loader will be used to expose the east side culvert opening, with sediment removal performed by a mini dozer. At postmiles 47.73, 47.69, and 47.64, a mini excavator will expose the east side outlets, and a vactor truck will be used for sediment removal. Access to the west side inlets for all locations will be from the roadway. The project has been granted a CEQA statutory exemption and a NEPA categorical exclusion, as no significant environmental impacts are anticipated.
