The Coffee County Board of Commissioners in Georgia is soliciting sealed bids for the resurfacing improvements to various roads within the county, funded through the Fiscal Year 2025 Local Road Assistance (LRA) and the 2026 Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant (LMIG) from the Georgia Department of Transportation. Bids are due by 10:00 AM on September 16, 2025, and must be submitted to the County Administrator’s office. The project scope includes patching, leveling, and resurfacing multiple roads, with all work to be completed within 120 days of the notice to proceed. The contract size is estimated to range between one million and five million dollars. Bidders are required to submit a bid bond amounting to at least 5% of their total bid, which serves as a guarantee to enter into a contract if awarded. Performance and payment bonds, each equal to 100% of the contract value, must also be provided upon contract award. Failure to execute the contract and furnish the bonds within ten days of notification will result in the forfeiture of the bid bond as liquidated damages. The selection of the successful bidder will be based on the evaluation of all submitted proposals, with the lowest responsible bid likely to be awarded. The project emphasizes timely completion and adherence to bonding requirements to ensure project delivery.
