The Climate Risk Assessment for the Town of Middleton will evaluate the potential impacts of climate change on the town's infrastructure, economy, environment, and communities, helping to identify vulnerabilities and prioritize actions to build resilience. Often referred to as the Heart of the Annapolis Valley, with a population of ~1,900, Middleton serves as a key service hub and agricultural area for the region. The Town has experienced increasing climate impacts, such as flooding and heatwaves, which threaten aging infrastructure, and service delivery. This assessment will be undertaken by a consultant and will include gathering localized climate data, mapping vulnerabilities, analyzing hazards, and mapping exposure. Extensive stakeholder engagement will ensure that residents, businesses, and experts contribute to identifying the town's most pressing climate challenges.
