The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division is seeking to acquire a mass comparator system, including standard weights and related accessories, specifically designed for high-precision weight calibration at the Navy Primary Standard Lab in San Diego and Marine Corps Calibration Laboratory. The procurement is a sole-source, firm-fixed-price contract awarded to Mettler Toledo LLC, the original equipment manufacturer, due to the critical need for system compatibility with existing hardware and software, ensuring seamless integration and operational efficiency. The system, including models AX1005, AX106, and XPR6U, will automate weight calibration processes, enabling continuous 24-hour operation to enhance productivity and reduce manual labor. Interested vendors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and submit their best technical and price proposals by the deadline of May 19, 2025. The solicitation emphasizes the importance of detailed technical information and compliance with FAR procedures, including completing specific certifications. The government will evaluate submissions to determine whether to proceed with a competitive procurement, but this notice does not constitute a request for proposals. All inquiries should be directed to Richard Myers via email or phone.

Solicitation N00421-25-Q-0114 issued as a combined synopsis/solicitation. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) contract, on a sole source requirement to Mettler Toledo LLC, 1900 Polaris Parkway, Columbus, OH 43240, Cage Code 12021. Specifically, this procurement is for a Mass Comparator, Standard Weights, and ancillary item(s) utilized at the Navy Primary Standard Lab (NPSL). A robotic mass comparator is used to automate weight calibration workflow as well as for high- throughput weight calibration applications. Automating the time and labor-intensive weight calibration process releases operators to focus on other tasks. Continuous 24-hour operation further increases efficiency and productivity. Mettler-Toledo LLC is the original equipment manufacturer. The Mettler system interfaces with previously procured and installed Mettler systems. Software and hardware histocompatibility is crucial for this acquisition as the engineering and software development to make a different system compatible with existing hardware and software would be sizable. AX1005, AX106 and XPR6U Mass Comparator, are used at the Navy Primary Standards Laboratory in North Island, San Diego California and Marine Corps Calibration Laboratory. The procedures of FAR Part 12 and 13.5 will be utilized for this commercial acquisition.
