Full Description

The NYC Health Department’s Bureau of Hepatitis, HIV, and Sexually Transmitted Infections (BHHS) envisions a NYC without transmission or illness related to viral hepatitis, HIV, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and works to improve the lives of New Yorkers by ending transmission, illness, stigma, and inequities related to viral hepatitis, HIV, and STIs using a strengths-based, community-driven, and intersectional approach. In 2019, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services launched, Ending the HIV Epidemic: A Plan for America (now, Ending the HIV Epidemic in the U.S., or EHE) which aims to reduce new HIV infections in the U.S. by 75% by 2025 and by at least 90% by 2030. EHE focuses on four pillars: 1) Diagnose; 2) Treat; 3) Prevent; and 4) Respond. The NYC 2020 EHE Plan was developed to build upon the NYC Ending the Epidemic Plan and adapt the EHE initiative to the NYC context. The Hook Up and Bridge (HUB) Program is heavily aligned with and supports the NYC 2020 EHE Plan.
