AI Contract Overview
The contract is for the procurement of 50 units of a male, needle-free, latex-free, disposable, sterile, and swabbable intravenous infusion system connector, intended for use as a heparin or saline lock with a rated continuous use lifespan of six days. Each unit must have a 36-month shelf life, with no more than five months elapsed between the date of manufacture and delivery to the government, and all packaging must be clearly marked with the lot number and manufacture date prefixed by “MFD.” Packaging must comply with Medical Marking Standard No. 1, which supersedes MIL-STD-129 for medical items, and must ensure protection from damage during transit using commercial unit and shipping containers, with palletization following DLA Packaging Requirements for Procurement (RP001). The items must be shipped via traceable means, excluding parcel post, to the delivery point at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, under FOB Destination terms, with inspection and acceptance occurring at the delivery point. Delivery is required within 20 days of contract award, with a specified original delivery date of July 22, 2026, and no variance in quantity is permitted. The unit price is $1.00 per unit, resulting in a total contract value of $50.00. Compliance with hazardous material labeling and safety data sheet requirements is mandatory, including adherence to 29 CFR 1910.1200, and all documentation must be submitted prior to award. Contract clauses related to whistleblower protections, employment eligibility verification, combating human trafficking, sustainable products, and safeguards for contractor information systems are incorporated, along with provisions mandating electronic invoicing through WAWF and compliance with DLA’s Master List of Technical and Quality Requirements, which take precedence over other standards like ASTM D3951. The contracting office is DLA Troop Support, with Allen Costello listed as the primary point of contact.
