Contractor Services - Electrical

The Board of Education of School District 68 Nanaimo-Ladysmith is seeking pre-qualified electrical contractors for a variety of capital construction and upgrade projects in British Columbia. The scope of work focuses on electrical system replacement and retrofits with an emphasis on energy efficiency and carbon footprint reduction, as well as the safe demolition and removal of existing systems. The contract is for an initial term of three years, with the option to extend for two additional years on an annual basis. Key deliverables include the provision of complete closeout documentation and asset management templates within 90 days of substantial completion, as well as in-person onsite walkthroughs and coordination with district maintenance personnel. Award decisions will be based on Best Value Selection Criteria, with the highest-ranked submissions, up to a maximum of three, being placed on a pre-qualification source list. Evaluation is weighted heavily on relevant project experience, management of the work, and geographical location, each accounting for 25 percent, followed by government experience and proposal quality at 10 percent each, and cost at 5 percent. Mandatory requirements for proponents include providing proof of a valid WorkSafeBC account, general and professional liability insurance of at least 5 million dollars per occurrence, and the completion of a vulnerable sector criminal record check. Submissions must be made via the BC Bid portal by the deadline of November 12, 2026.
