The Department of Defense intends to issue a sole source award to ICx Radar Systems for the conversion of an existing STS-350 Radar System from a vehicle-mounted to a rack-mounted configuration. This project involves upgrading hardware and software for a short-range Perimeter Surveillance Radar System to incorporate advanced technologies, including wireless and solar power capabilities. The final installation will consist of one truck mount and two fixed mount locations, ensuring no degradation in system performance. The scope of work includes the procurement of performance modification enhancements, Ethernet communications in NEMA 4 enclosures, wireless communication modules and access points, mounting racks, and solar power systems. Additionally, the contract covers an elite laptop modification, software keys, site surveys, and system commissioning. This requirement is a follow-on to a 2003 Air Force acquisition, and the award is justified under the authority that only one responsible source can satisfy the agency requirements.
