Stony Brook University Hospital plans to acquire Cordis Vascular Closure Devices through a procurement process authorized under section 163(3)(vi), allowing purchases from a consortium or similar entity without a formal competitive bidding process if justified by favorable pricing. The procurement is limited to vendors who sell or manufacture equivalent products, with interested parties encouraged to contact the designated procurement officer for discussions. The contract is subject to New York State lobbying laws, restricting communications to the specified contact person, Jessica Gruzo, and requiring vendors to complete various compliance documents, including Vendor Responsibility and NYS tax and workers’ compensation forms. The procurement is not set aside for service-disabled veteran-owned businesses and must be submitted by June 14, 2024, at 4:00 PM. The contract will run concurrently with the existing GPO contract from June 1, 2024, through May 31, 2027, with potential extensions if the GPO contract is extended. The purchase is located in Suffolk County, New York, and involves products previously purchased from out-of-state vendors within the past three years. The vendor, Cordis US Corp., has been awarded similar contracts within the last five years. The contract value is estimated between $100,000 and $500,000.
