Rose Bowl Stadium Architectural Services
Solicitation # 2026-RFP-0531
The Rose Bowl Operating Company and the City of Pasadena are seeking a qualified architectural firm to serve as a long-term Venue Architect for the Rose Bowl Stadium. The primary objective is to establish a partnership for the full lifecycle of anticipated capital improvement projects, specifically the East/West Seating Improvement Project and the North Videoboard Expansion Project. The seating project focuses on achieving ADA compliance through reconfigured seating tiers and treads, while the videoboard project involves replacing the current configuration with a single new board while preserving mountain sightlines. Design efforts for these projects are anticipated to occur between January 2027 and December 2028, with a target construction start date of January 2, 2029. The selected firm will provide comprehensive services including conceptual planning, design development, construction estimates, and value engineering. Proposals must be submitted in two separate parts, a technical proposal and a price proposal, by November 5, 2026. Evaluation is based on a competitive selection process considering municipal experience and the ability to work within live-event, occupied-venue environments. The contract requires adherence to strict accessibility standards, including Title II of the ADA and California Building Code. Compensation involves fixed design fees per project phase and hourly rates for on-call services, subject to a 3% annual escalation cap.
