Scope: The Contractor shall perform the annual State of California required inspections on powerhouse cranes and hoists listed in Section 2.8 below.  All listed cranes and hoists shall be surveyed on an annual basis. Contractor shall perform inspections in accordance with Title 8, OSHA 9010, and any other applicable codes. Contractor shall furnish water bags or concrete blocks designed for Quadrennial Load Tests.  Compensation for rented test weights shall be in accordance with Item 6 of the Bid Schedule. Contractor shall supply licensed surveyors to perform the required inspection work. Surveyor will drive contractor’s vehicle to a SMUD maintenance headquarters, and then to the powerhouse to perform required inspection.  Surveyor must be able to respond to an inspection request with only five (5) working days’ notice.
