The work to be done under this contract consists of, in general, but not limited to, sixty-three (63) open cut spot repairs at 44 different locations; with a total spot repair length of 672 Linear Feet. Spot repairs will consist of removing existing pipe and replacing with new SDR26 PVC pipe. The diameter of existing pipes to be replaced consist of 6-inch, 8-inch, 14-inch and 15-inch pipes. Work also includes removing and replacing fifty-five (55) 6”x4” wyes, eight (8) 8”x4” wyes and two (2) 14”x4” wyes. Of the sixty-three (63) open cut spot repairs in this project, twenty-two of those require a reconnection with water-stop to an existing manhole. In addition to open cut spot repairs there are nine (9) pipe bursting segments at eight (8) locations; with a total pipe bursting replacement length of 2,800 Linear Feet. Pipe bursting replacements will consist of removing existing pipe and replacing with new SDR17 HDPE pipe. All pipe bursting locations will require a reconnection with water-stop to an existing manhole. In addition, there are two (2) repairs that require CIPP lining at 1 location. In addition to doing all the work involved, it also includes but not limited to, excavating, installing and backfilling, complete in place, including pipe, fittings, wye and band coupling, trench excavation and backfill, trench safety and shoring, utility potholing and pavement removal and restoration of pavement and surfacing, including lane and crosswalk restriping, temporary bypass pumping, removal and reinstallation of fence panels and fence posts, removal and reinstallation of pavers, removal and restoration of concrete curb, gutter, and sidewalks, and removing and replanting trees, shrubs, and plants, and any necessary irrigation lines, as shown on the plans, as specified in these specifications, and as directed by the Engineer All work items shall be constructed in accordance with the Contract Plans & Specifications. Bidding Documents will contain the full descriptions of the Work.
All work under this contract shall be completed within 122 Working Days from the Notice to Proceed effective date. The District shall assess Liquidated Damages in the amount of $500 per Working Day for delays in completion of the project.
The District will conduct an optional pre-bid conference/job walk on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at 10:00 AM PST. Location for meeting will be Location 15 at 10230 Yoshino Pl, Cupertino, CA 95014.
