Custom PLC Stations & Design

Johnson County Community College has issued RFP 26-201 for the design and procurement of nine turnkey Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), HMI, sensor, and equipment stations for the Automation Engineering Technology Department. The project is structured in two phases, with phase one consisting of five stations and phase two consisting of four stations. The contractor is responsible for picking up pre-purchased racks, assembling, testing, and delivering fully functional systems that integrate at least four different PLC types, such as Rockwell, Siemens, AutomationDirect, and Mitsubishi/Omron. All deliverables must be completed and ready for installation by December 31, 2026, with separate pricing required for each phase. The award will be determined through a trade-off process based on a 100-point scale, prioritizing the response to the scope of work, design, and experience with similar projects at 30 points each, while cost accounts for the remaining 10 points. Proposals must be submitted as a single PDF via the JCCC Procurement Portal by February 27, 2026. The contract requires compliance with NEC and UL standards, as well as State of Kansas Form DA-146a contractual provisions. Key administrative requirements include F.O.B. Destination shipping, mandatory criminal background checks for personnel, and the maintenance of a tested business continuity plan.
