Cybersecurity & CUI Safeguarding

The contract mandates the full implementation and ongoing maintenance of cybersecurity controls as specified in NIST Special Publication 800-171 to safeguard Controlled Unclassified Information across all systems and operations. This includes establishing, validating, and continuously monitoring technical and procedural safeguards to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of CUI, with strict adherence to federal requirements for access control, audit logging, incident response, and system hardening. All activities must align with DoD standards and include regular assessments to confirm compliance and mitigate evolving threats. Subcontractors and third-party vendors are required to flow down these cybersecurity obligations through their own agreements, ensuring end-to-end protection of CUI throughout the supply chain. Any security incident involving CUI must be reported immediately according to established protocols, with detailed documentation and corrective actions taken promptly. The contract underscores a zero-tolerance approach to noncompliance and requires continuous vigilance, training, and operational discipline to uphold the integrity of the information handling framework under the Department of Defense’s oversight.
