Cybersecurity Compliance and Data Safeguarding (Subcontractor Support)

The contract mandates comprehensive cybersecurity compliance support aligned with NIST SP 800-171 standards for systems handling covered defense information, ensuring that all technical and administrative safeguards are implemented and maintained to protect sensitive data. It includes mandatory cyber incident reporting through the DoD’s Defense Industrial Base Cybersecurity and Incident Reporting (DIBNet) portal, requiring timely and accurate submission of incident details in accordance with federal requirements. Media preservation protocols are also required to ensure the integrity, availability, and longevity of digital artifacts containing covered defense information, with procedures in place to prevent loss or unauthorized access. Additionally, the subcontractor must manage DFARS clause flow-down obligations, ensuring that all downstream parties and subcontractors adhere to the same regulatory standards, thereby maintaining a continuous chain of compliance throughout the contract lifecycle. All activities must support the Defense Logistics Agency’s mission to protect classified and controlled unclassified information across its supply chain.
