The U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) intends to enter into a sole source contract with Livermore Software technology Corporation (LSTC) for 35 LS-DYNA annual licenses and the maintenance support agreement. The period of performance will be one year starting on February 1, 2008. Livermore Software technology Corporation (LSTC) is the owner of the source code and the only company capable of selling and supporting the code. LSTC support is needed to provide error corrections, code updates, and direct technical support from the code developers in order to support the continued use of LS-DYNA code to perform independent in-house structural analysis for aircraft impact on the new and existing reactors, and spent nuclear fuel casks regulatory drop tests. No other sources are known which can provide LS-DYNA code error corrections, code updates, and direct technical support from the code developers. This is not a request for competitive proposals. Requests for copies of this solicitation will not be honored unless the respondent provides evidence showing their capability to perform the required services. Inquiries regarding this announcement may be made to Adelis M Rodriguez, Contract Specialist by phone at (301) 415-5719 or via e-mail at amr2@nrc.gov.
