This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial services/items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The 6th Contracting Squadron, MACDILL AFB FL, intends to award a sole source requirement for renewal of the subscription of Reuters America, Inc, for period of performance of one year from date of award. The sole source and service provider, Reuters America, Inc, is an on-line service that enables USCENTCOM the required access to obtain the detailed coverage of events in the USCENTCOM Area of Interest and Area of Responsibility. No other wire service has proven satisfactory in meeting analyst requirements for stories on key regional developments, assessments of issues, useable tip-offs, and detailed reporting. Reuters has 130 news bureaus world-wide with 1200 journalists contributing. No other service provides this level of coverage. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement is for on-line newswire information services, twenty-four hours a day, on a worldwide basis. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 519110, and the small business size standard is $6 MIL. The following clauses and provisions are incorporated and in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-05, applicable FAR and DFARS clauses are 52.212-1, 52.212-2, 52.232-3, 52.212-4, 52.212-5, 52-232-33, 252.212-7001, and provision at FAR 52.212-3.
