Datawell Directional Waverider Buoys-Procurement Services-SoleSource

Oregon State University intends to contract for the provision of Datawell Directional Waverider Buoys from Coastal Obs Tech Services as a sole source because of the uniqueness (design, capability, nature) of the goods and its ability to meet compatibility requirements of an existing line of equipment. The selected supplier must provide equipment that is fully compatible with existing Datawell Directional Waverider systems currently deployed by PacWave and within CDIP-supported monitoring networks. The required wave measurement system must provide reference-grade directional wave data, including accurate wave height, period, and directional spectra measurements in offshore environments; maintain continuity with existing PacWave and regional datasets; support interoperability with Coastal Data Information Program (CDIP) data management systems; provide proven long-term offshore reliability and calibration stability; and be accepted as a reference standard for accredited wave energy testing and marine energy research programs. In addition, the supplier must be authorized to provide official manufacturer warranty coverage, technical support, replacement components, shipping, customs brokerage, and lifecycle support for Datawell equipment.
