San Jacinto Community College District is seeking qualified design-build firms to deliver a comprehensive turnkey solution for the renovation of the rotunda at Building C1 on its Central Campus, with a project budget estimated at $500,000. Compliance with federal, state, and local regulations is mandatory, including adherence to prevailing wage rates as adopted by the College, OSHA standards, and ADA accessibility requirements. Insurance requirements are stringent, mandating commercial general liability coverage of $1 million per occurrence and $2 million aggregate, with San Jacinto College named as an additional insured on all policies except workers’ compensation, which must meet Texas statutory limits of $500,000 per accident and per disease. Contractors must also comply with a strict safety plan, prohibit weapons and tobacco use except in designated areas, and ensure proper labeling of temporary chemical containers per OSHA 1910.122. Evaluation is pass/fail on completeness and compliance, with up to five firms advancing to a request for proposal stage, where a guaranteed maximum price will be submitted.
