The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-MAN-63583-R3, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Andy Blauvet. The Project is limited to repairs and replacement of the existing deck and associated structures. All work will take place within the existing footprint of the 2,188 square foot deck. The deck will be replaced with untreated hardwood or composite material via hand tools and in stages to maintain storage and ensure work areas remain out of the marsh. The deck joists, beams, and footings will be replaced as needed with polyvinyl wrapped pressure treated wood (no treated wood would be left exposed to the stream or associated salt marsh habitat) or untreated hardwood. All materials will be transported via hand or a wheeled cart along the boardwalk to the Project area. An enclosed area will be established on the deck for cutting the decking materials; this area serves to contain sawdust and will be cleaned and vacuumed daily. There will be no vegetation removal and no in-water work associated with Project activities. The Project will result in temporary impacts to stream-associated salt marsh vegetation associated with limited walking inspections around the perimeter of the deck. The Project will not result in permanent impacts to stream or associated salt marsh habitat.
