Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division has been tasked to contract for a supply support solution for the CVN-77 Advanced Degaussing System. This system was originally installed in the New Construction Phase and has not received a support solution when it was turned over to he Navy in 2009. This system is a highly critical system for deployed ship operations, as it is the central system for detectability of mines. To procure these items NSWCPD will enter into a sole source, firm fixed price contract with Controlled Systems, who is the only US distributor of this material and technology. Controlled Systems is the only supplier currently of this material as this portion was turned over to them by the original manufacturer Polyamp AB. Solicitation date projected January 31, 2017. Sources Sought Notice ended December 12, 2016.
