The Jurupa Unified School District is adjusting the grade configuration at Del Sol Academy from TK–8 to TK–6 and transitioning all seventh and eighth grade students to Mira Loma Middle School, expanding Mira Loma’s attendance boundaries to include the affected areas. This reconfiguration aims to improve operational efficiency and reduce Del Sol Academy’s ongoing operating costs without requiring new construction or facility modifications. The project has been determined to be exempt from environmental review under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) through the Common Sense Exemption (Section 15061(b)(3)) and the Minor Additions to School Sites exemption (Section 15314), as it involves no significant environmental impact, no unusual circumstances, and no cumulative effects on sensitive resources. The initiative is led by the district’s Planning & Development office, with Robin Griffin as the primary contact, and is implemented at the two school sites located in Jurupa Valley, California. No formal contract value, payment terms, invoicing procedures, contracting officer details, or federal acquisition regulations apply, as this is an internal administrative realignment rather than a procurement action. The project documentation includes a certified exemption finding and a Notice of Exemption, submitted to the state for record, but lacks standard procurement components such as pricing, delivery schedules, evaluation criteria, or contractor representations.

Full Description

The Jurupa Unified School District (District) proposes to reconfigure the grade levels served at the existing Del Sol Academy from TK-8 to TK-6. The District further proposes to transition seventh and eighth grade students from Del Sol Academy to Mira Loma Middle School. The Mira Loma Middle School attendance boundaries would be expanded to absorb the territory now served by Del Sol Academy with respect to seventh and eighth grade students only. The proposed activity would benefit the District by yielding a more efficient allocation of District resources and a corresponding reduction in Del Sol Academy's operating budget.
