Demolition and Site Stabilization of Two City-Owned Properties Project

The City owns two properties located at 44911 Cabrillo Avenue and 44845 San Clemente Circle in Palm Desert. The City has determined that the existing structures and associated improvements at these properties are to be removed and the sites cleared, graded, and stabilized. Through this Invitation for Bid, the City is seeking a qualified contractor to perform the demolition and site stabilization work at both properties. The Work will include, as applicable, hazardous materials abatement, utility disconnections and coordination, demolition and removal of existing structures and improvements, debris disposal, site clearing, backfill, grading, and stabilization. As part of its preparation for the Project, the City has obtained environmental assessments and reports addressing potential hazardous materials at the properties, including asbestos, lead, and mold. Applicable reports and site information are included with the Contract Documents and should be carefully reviewed by prospective Bidders in preparing their Bids. Because the Work will occur within established residential areas and may involve hazardous materials, utility disconnections, demolition activities, and heavy equipment, the Contractor will be expected to carefully coordinate the Work and implement appropriate measures for public safety, dust and noise control, protection of adjacent properties, regulatory compliance, and proper handling and disposal of demolition and hazardous materials. Upon completion of the Project, both properties shall be left clean, safe, properly graded, and stabilized in accordance with the Contract Documents and to the satisfaction of the City.
