DetaClad Explosion Clad Metal made up of Ti6AL4v, Tantalum and Inconel X750

NASA/NSSC is soliciting a sole source contract under FAR 12.102(a) to acquire one unit of DetaClad Explosion Clad Metal composed of Titanium B265 Gr 5 as an interlayer, Tantalum B708 (UNS R05252) as a clad layer, and Inconel X-750 (UNS N07750) as the base metal, fabricated to meet B898 and DMC100 specifications. The product, a 17'x14'' material target with a minimum sound bond of 11''x11'', must feature three uncut edges and one cut edge, undergo Class B ultrasonic testing per B898, and pass a helium leak test at a rate of 1 x 10(-8) scc/sec. Stress relief heat treatment may be required per DMC 100 Sec 6.2.7, and all documentation including material test reports, weld qualifications, non-destructive examination results, and inspection plans must be submitted electronically via PDF in accordance with DMC 100. The contract will be awarded to DMC GLOBAL INC. of Broomfield, Colorado, recognized as the sole provider of this specific clad metal composition, with performance managed through NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center as the final destination and processing occurring in Mount Braddock, Pennsylvania. Delivery of the single item is required within 11 to 12 weeks. This procurement falls under NAICS code 332999 and is classified as a commercial item acquisition.
