Gloucestershire Hospitals Subsidiary Company Limited has awarded a contract to ASG UK (Systems) Limited for the Device vLAN update project, valued at 21,729.92 pounds excluding VAT. The project is scheduled to run from September 10, 2026, to March 31, 2027. The primary objective of this engagement is to resolve critical IP address conflicts between building management system controls and door access controls sharing the same VLAN. This technical failure has caused significant operational disruptions, particularly at CGH, where the inability to update access cards has prevented new doctors from entering specific areas and left theatre doors unable to be secured. To remedy this, all door access controls will be readdressed onto a dedicated VLAN provided by IT to restore full functionality and security.

Full Description

There are currently a number of building management system controls and door access controls that are offline because of a conflict between the using the same IP addresses on the same VLAN. IT has made a dedicated VLAN available for the door access controls to move to and we now need all door access controls to be readdressed onto that VLAN. This issue is causing considerable problems especially at CGH where door access cards can’t be updated so new doctors can’t access areas within the hospital. The theatres are also unable to secure their doors.
