The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic (SPAWARSYSCEN Atlantic) issued a Request for Information (RFI) seeking details on commercially available Local Area Network (LAN) equipment to support Military Health Systems networking needs. The equipment requested includes various types of switches—specifically 48-port and 24-port 10/100/1000 PoE+ switches with redundant, hot-swappable internal power supplies and 10G capabilities—as well as different types of GBICs for fiber connectivity, switch stacking components, and chassis to support core and server farm networking. The solution must be a single manufacturer enterprise solution, compliant with the Department of Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Unified Capabilities Approved Product List (APL), and meet technical specifications such as IPv6 support, Layer 3 routing protocols, VLAN tagging, port-based access control, redundancy for power supplies and management modules, and advanced Spanning Tree protocols to ensure reliable and secure network operations. The RFI emphasizes the need for scalable and resilient core, server farm, and edge/access network layers equipped with features like redundant switch backplanes, management functions, and power supplies to maintain high availability. Training, warranty, and remote support services for the hardware are also requested. Vendors are asked to provide comprehensive company and product information, including pricing and GSA schedule data, to facilitate market research and equipment evaluation by SSC-LANT Code 43420. This RFI is strictly informational and not a solicitation for proposals or an offer to contract. All responses will be publicly available for government use, and companies are advised not to submit proprietary information. Responses were due by 26 October 2016 via email to the designated technical contact.
